![]() If you can't find my reasoning sufficient to add this category, we'd be forced to create our own leaderboards, not sure if we can add it on this same website, or on another, but I'm confident more members would join us.When you reach the temple of Bhaal, you’ll encounter Orin. Not to mention 45 second runs don't make for great GDQ/stream content. I have a bunch of friends who'd love to run a category like this, we all find the main category too competitive, short, short in creativity, and very prone to small mistakes like throwing a coin 1 pixel too far to the left requiring a restart. This category would not require SA/SO by default. With freedom of all weapons, imagine explosives, snipers concussives, to yeet the target into a bush or out a window, irrespective of the general limitations like ONLY explosives, ONLY snipers, ONLY suit, silent assassin, which is so specific most players aren't going to want to run it. Imagine the creativity of runners when they find a route where you complete part of a mission story for one target, simultaneously killing another on the route.įiberwire is a pretty dull category, considering it requires you to do tedious maneuvers to seperate the target, like distracting the bodyguard with pushing, then it's a melee attack which means always dragging the body, instead of being able to mix it up with a sniper shot, an explosion, and a knife attack which is way more fun for stream/GDQ than a fiberwire. And most importantly, mission story interactions. Having no bodies be discovered means players need to find a way in, meaning more sneaking around, objects beyond a muffin and a silenced pistol being used like lockpicks and crowbars. My main argument is that runs are extremely short, sometimes even 30 seconds, because they don't enter the location at all. We have additional information about patch changes as well here, for reference: That run has slight patch changes making it not 100% compatible with current patch, but it's similar enough to give you some solid ideas, should you attempt this run yourself as a personal challenge. (Which includes accidents and Kalmer not being allowed). ![]() By virtue of the fact that only fiberwire kills were allowed, and that it had to be silent assassin, and no KO's were allowed, it is by definition not allowed for bodies to be found in this run. This was a trilogy full game run done earlier this year with the conditions of silent assassin, suit only, fiberwire only, no KO's, no emetics used. All the same, this category is similar enough to existing ones we won't be adding it.īy coincidence though, I actually do know of a full game run off the top of my head that satisfies your criteria: Now you can argue that using Kalmer dart guns to produce "accident knock outs" on nontargets would void the "no bodies found" idea, even if the target bodies aren't found. The Fiberwire / Explosives Only / Loud Ballistic / Sniper (Ballistic) categories all require the target's body not be found by default. We already have a good amount of categories players enjoy over at, and what you are suggesting is similar enough to existing categories there. With all due respect, we won't be adding such a category. Preventing the body('s) from being found makes you believe they would only find it hours later. ![]() They could block off escape routes immediately. If a body is discovered, especially if there's 2 targets who are killed with something falling on their head in the span of 10 seconds, I would call 911 and they would figure out a bullet hit the cables. Suit only does not change gameplay in a major way since distracting guards with specific shots works just as well most of the time, and you can often snipe these accidental deaths from miles away. In Hitman's challenge mode "no bodies discovered" is a common challenge, even more common than "suit only". I believe a category where you have to kill the target in a way that either conceals their body when exploding them a certain way can still be fun, or mostly, hiding the body in a location as fast as possible, and this will breathe new life in a game that I was already running, but not in the way most people have been submitting. I don't like that most speedruns are about sniping specific locations, especially triggering falling objects and accidental kills. I have been speedrunning Hitman's trilogy for a while now, playing silent assassin master mode, and I felt like submitting my runs to a leaderboard, but then when watching runs I found that that the top runners play the game very differently than me.
